Driver violates alcohol concentration on social media, insults the reputation of traffic police

On June 8, Mai Chau District Police, Hoa Binh Province issued a decision to administratively sanction KVD (born in 1998), residing in Na Phon Commune (Mai Chau District) for posting an article with content that insults the reputation of the Traffic Police force according to the provisions of Article 101 of Decree 15/2020/ND-CP dated February 3, 2020 of the Government on Administrative sanctions in the fields of post, telecommunications, radio frequencies, information technology and electronic transactions.

Mai Chau district police made a record of administrative fines against KVĐ.

Previously, at 10:30 p.m. on May 6, a working group of the Traffic Police Department of Mai Chau District Police on duty at the road area of ​​Poom Coong Hamlet, Mai Chau Town, inspected and discovered that KVĐ was using alcohol concentration while driving an electric motorbike. The working group drew up an administrative violation record for the error of "driving an electric motorbike with a breath alcohol concentration not exceeding 0.25 mg/1 liter of breath" and temporarily detained the vehicle.

During the administrative violation handling process, KVĐ used his mobile phone to record. After returning home, due to anger and alcohol, KVĐ used his personal Facebook account to post an article about the traffic police, including a caption with obscene, derogatory, and threatening words about the police, along with 1 image and 1 self-recorded video of the traffic police handling the violation. The article attracted many views, likes, and comments from the community.

On May 7, after sobering up, KVĐ proactively deleted the post on his personal page.

However, as soon as KVĐ was discovered posting false information on social media, the District Police leaders directed and assigned the Security Team to receive, verify, and handle the case according to the law. While working at the police station, KVĐ realized that his behavior was wrong and thoughtless while drunk, affecting the reputation, honor, and dignity of traffic police officers.

Based on the nature, level of violation and mitigating circumstances, based on the results of the content assessment of the article by the District Department of Culture and Information, the District Police issued a decision to impose an administrative fine of 5 million VND on KVĐ and this person has completed the payment of the fine at the District State Treasury.
