Motorcyclist with high blood alcohol level crashes into traffic police officer.
The police in Bac Quang district (Ha Giang province) have issued a decision to temporarily detain Ban Ngoc Hanh for driving a motorbike under the influence of alcohol and crashing into traffic police officers.
On October 18th, the Ha Giang Provincial Police announced that the Bac Quang District Police had issued a decision to temporarily detain Ban Ngoc Hanh (born in 2000, residing in Kim Ngoc commune, Bac Quang district) for investigation into the act of resisting public officials.
Accordingly, at approximately 9:50 PM on October 17th, a task force from the Traffic Police and Public Order Team of Bac Quang District Police, while conducting alcohol and drug checks at km3+200 on National Highway 279 (in Quang Minh commune), spotted a motorcyclist carrying a passenger who appeared to be in violation of traffic regulations, and requested them to stop for inspection.
However, upon seeing the task force, the driver accelerated and drove straight into them, causing Captain Hoang Minh Hai (a member of the task force) to fall onto the road and sustain a leg injury.
After the collision, both people on the motorbike fell onto the road and slid for about 20 meters.
The task force subsequently arrested the two people on the motorbike and took Captain Hai to Bac Quang District General Hospital for first aid.
Initially, the police identified the driver who rammed into the task force as Ban Ngoc Hanh, and the passenger as Ly Quang Thanh (born in 2000, residing in Kim Ngoc commune, Bac Quang district).
During the alcohol concentration test, the police discovered that Ban Ngoc Hanh had a blood alcohol level of 0.805 milligrams/liter of breath, and Ly Quang Thanh had a level of 0.838 milligrams/liter of breath.
