Taliban relies on Chinese finance to restore economy
A representative of the Taliban recently said that they will rely on financial support from China to restore economic activities in Afghanistan.
In an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the Taliban would “fight” to get the economy running again with China’s help.
“China is our most important partner and represents a fundamental and extraordinary opportunity for us, because China is willing to invest and rebuild our country,” said a Taliban representative.

However, the Taliban, which has been in power for three weeks, will have difficulty accessing the $10 billion worth of assets held by the Afghan Central Bank in foreign accounts soon./.
