Russian President Vladimir Putin's annual major press conference was scheduled to take place on December 20, but the deadline for the Russian leader to read his annual message to the National Assembly was once again postponed.

Cuba's Ministry of Health and Ministry of Transport have announced detailed plans to withdraw all of the country's medical professionals working under Brazil's “More Doctors” program.

The two ministries urgently completed this plan after the Cuban government announced its withdrawal from Brazil's "More Doctors" program due to unfriendly statements by the country's President-elect Jair Bolsonaro.

According to official figures, there are about 8,600 Cuban doctors and medical staff working in South America's largest country. The repatriation of doctors is expected to last more than 3 weeks and end in mid-December, before Brazil's President-elect Bolsonaro takes office on January 1, 2019.

According to AFP, Taliban insurgents said the force held talks with US officials in Qatar last week about ending the conflict in Afghanistan, but said the two sides did not reach an agreement on "any issue".

According to Reuters, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi stressed that the country still hopes Europe can save the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and six world powers, despite the US withdrawal from the agreement.

"There are uncertainties about the implementation of the European Union (EU) mechanism to protect trade with Iran from US sanctions... However, we still hope that Europe can save the deal," Qasemi said at a regular press conference broadcast live on state television.

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said the country has decided to ban entry to 18 Saudi Arabian state officials involved in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi inside the Saudi Arabian Consulate in Istanbul, Türkiye.

Foreign Minister Maas said that the Saudi officials mentioned above were likely involved in the murder of journalist Khashoggi. Previously, German Chancellor Angela Merkel affirmed that Berlin would stop selling weapons to Saudi Arabia related to the Khashoggi case. Guatemalan authorities have issued a red alert after the Furgo volcano erupted again, forcing nearly 3,000 people to flee. A spokesman for Guatemala's disaster agency said the Furgo volcano began erupting on the morning of November 18 and the eruption has been increasing in intensity.

According to the Institute of Volcanology, from a distance, observing the Furgo volcano, one can see lava flows rising about 500 meters from the crater, while columns of smoke and dust reaching up to 1 km high, causing volcanic ash to fill the surrounding air.
