After her successful action roles, Ngo Thanh Van has moved on to become a producer and film director. The first film her company produced was "Once Upon a Time" (directed by Cuong Ngo). By "Tam Cam: The Untold Story", Ngo Thanh Van herself became the director.

This movie was released in August last year, faced a lot of pressure in the theater when it could not find a common voice with the CGV theater chain, but the movie has risen spectacularly. This is one of the rare profitable movies of 2016.

The 2017 Osaka Asian Film Festival was held in 2005 and has since become an annual event in Osaka, attracting talented filmmakers from the Asian region. The Film Competition category of this year's festival has 16 films from Hong Kong, Taiwan (China), the Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, Indonesia, India, mainland China, and Japan. The film selected to open the festival is Mrs K (a co-production between Malaysia and Hong Kong, directed by HO Yuhang), and the closing film is Parks (directed by SETA Natsuki, Japan).

In addition, the festival also has a special film program so that the audience can better understand Asian people and society, through films depicting the lives of workers. The festival also has a Hong Kong Cinema Highlights 2017 program, a Thai Film program to celebrate the 130th anniversary of Thailand-Japan diplomatic relations.

The festival also has a forum for independent films in Japan, as well as a film fund to support young talents right out of school.
