Temporarily allocate 1,680 billion VND in compensation for the second marine environmental incident

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh has just directed the provision of temporary compensation funds for people affected by the second marine environmental incident.

Following the direction of the Deputy Prime Minister, 1,680 billion VND was temporarily granted to 4 localities (Ha Tinh 560 billion VND, Quang Binh 760 billion VND, Quang Tri 160 billion VND, Thua Thien Hue 200 billion VND) from the compensation amount paid by Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Hung Nghiep Co., Ltd. for the provinces to compensate for damages to people affected by the marine environmental incident.

After the Formosa incident, many boats in Ha Tinh are still ashore.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Finance to transfer money appropriately based on the provisional funding level and disbursement progress of localities to avoid money being left behind in localities.

Localities use the above amount to make payments to the subjects specified in Decision No. 1880/QD-TTg dated September 29, 2016 of the Prime Minister (including owners of temporary purchasing and storage facilities with cold storage and frozen storage in coastal communes, wards and towns specified in Point a, Clause 7, Article 1 of Decision No. 1880/QD-TTg). The payment of funds must ensure the correct subjects and the correct norms to avoid errors that cannot recover funds./.
