Three brothers detained for stabbing karaoke bar owner to death on the third day of Tet in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - Pham Van Cuong (the eldest brother) was prosecuted and detained for 4 months to investigate the crime of "Murder"; the two younger brothers were detained to clarify their roles as accomplices in the murder of a karaoke bar owner on the 3rd day of Tet.
On the afternoon of February 22, Colonel Pham Hoai Nam - Head of the Criminal Police Department (PC45), Nghe An Provincial Police, said that the Investigation Police Agency of Nghe An Provincial Police had prosecuted and detained Pham Van Cuong (born in 1990, residing in Hamlet 9, Thanh An Commune, Thanh Chuong District) for 4 months to investigate the crime of "Murder".
Cuong was identified as the person who directly stabbed Le Trung Tam, owner of Tan Phat karaoke bar in Thanh Chi commune (Thanh Chuong), 4 times in the thigh and abdomen, causing his death at the hospital.
Cuong's two younger brothers, Pham Van Thong (born 1995) and Pham Van Hong (born 1996), were also detained for investigation to clarify their role as accomplices in the murder case.
Thong and Hong were arrested on the evening of February 18 at Thanh An Commune Health Station while Thong was bandaging his wound there. Cuong surrendered to Thanh Chuong District Police on the morning of February 19.
Before that, at around 7:30 p.m. on February 18, three brothers, Pham Van Cuong, Pham Van Hong, and Pham Van Thong, after drinking at home, went together to Tan Phat karaoke bar in Hamlet 3, Thanh Chi commune, owned by Le Trung Tam (born in 1977) to rent a room to sing. However, due to the large number of customers, the bar was full.
While Cuong's group was standing in front of the gate, a customer came out and honked to tell them to get out of the way. After a heated argument, Cuong pulled out a knife from his motorbike's trunk and tried to stab the customer, but he managed to run away. Already drunk, the three Cuong brothers cursed the restaurant and got into a fight with a few people there.
At this time, the restaurant manager called Mr. Le Trung Tam, who was drinking nearby, to come and resolve the matter. Mr. Tam came back and loudly blamed Cuong's group for causing trouble at the restaurant. An employee rushed in and hit Thong on the head.
A conflict broke out between the two sides, Cuong stabbed Tam repeatedly with a knife, including one in the thigh and three in the abdomen. Tam was taken to Thanh Chuong District General Hospital by the restaurant staff for emergency treatment, but died due to severe injuries. At this time, Cuong's group got on a motorbike and fled.
The case is currently being investigated and clarified by the Investigation Police Agency of Nghe An Province.
