Detained 3 people suspected of impersonating police to incite disorder
Although not police officers, these three men wore police uniforms and jackets with the police logo and mixed into the crowd with the intention of inciting disorder. Discovered by the people and the police, these three were detained for further investigation according to the law.
On the evening of June 16, Ho Chi Minh City Police said they were temporarily detaining three people to clarify the motive for wearing police uniforms and jackets with the logo of the Ho Chi Minh City Police to blend into the crowd that morning. Of these, two were wearing jackets with the logo of the Ho Chi Minh City Police, and one was wearing a police uniform.

Accordingly, the subject wearing police uniform who was detained is named Nguyen Hung Thai (23 years old). Thai was discovered by people and authorities while standing in a crowd in front of Tao Dan Park on the morning of June 16 in his police uniform. Working with this person, the police discovered that Thai also had handcuffs and a hat with the logo of the Ho Chi Minh City Police.
The two remaining subjects were found wearing shirts with the logo of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department, named Tran Quoc Dat and Vu Quoc Huy (both 39 years old). These two subjects were riding large motorbikes and were causing trouble, so the authorities invited them in for questioning.
Ho Chi Minh City police do not rule out that these 3 people impersonated police officers, then attacked people in the crowd, people around shouted that the police were beating people, then took photos and videos and posted them online to slander the police force and incite people.

In addition to the three subjects above, about 100 people were also invited by the authorities to the headquarters for questioning. Searching their backpacks, the police confiscated knives, pepper spray, and slogans reading "Oppose the Special Economic Zone Law" and "Oppose the Cyber Security Law".
