Grandmother of Nghe An female student who died on her way back from birthday party detained
(Baonghean.vn) - After a 6th grade female student went missing after returning from a friend's birthday party, people extracted camera footage and found that her grandmother was the last person to see Tam before she went missing.
On the afternoon of November 6, Mr. Pham Van Luyen - Chairman of Hau Thanh Commune People's Committee confirmed that Yen Thanh District Police (Nghe An) is temporarily detaining Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (residing in Hau Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District, Nghe An) to investigate the death of Nguyen Thi Tam (born in 2008, 6th grade student, residing in Hau Thanh Commune) - Ms. Huong's granddaughter.

Body of 6th grade girl missing after returning from birthday party found
(Baonghean.vn) - Early this morning (November 5), relatives and authorities found the body of Nguyen Thi Tam (born in 2008, 6th grade student, residing in Hau Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district - Nghe An), who went missing on her way home from a friend's birthday party.
As reported, on the afternoon of November 3, Tam and a group of friends rode electric bicycles to Phu Thuong hamlet (Hau Thanh commune) to attend a classmate's birthday party. At around 4:20 p.m., Tam asked permission to go home early because her house was far away and she was afraid it would get dark.

However, by the evening of the same day, Tam's relatives still did not see her return home, so they went to her friend's house to ask and search. During the search, relatives discovered Tam's hat and coat at the foot of Bau Ganh irrigation dam (Hau Thanh commune).
At 5:30 a.m. on November 5, relatives, local residents and police discovered Tam's body floating near the shore of Bau Ganh dam.
After Tam went missing, people extracted the camera footage and found that her grandmother was the last person to see Tam before she went missing. Mrs. Huong sat behind her grandson's motorbike at 4:45 p.m. on November 3. Afterwards, she returned home alone and panicked to get her bicycle. People also provided information showing that she showed many signs of psychological abnormalities. She wore a raincoat, went shopping for clothes and said she was going to Hanoi to work as a maid after the incident.

Previously, Mrs. Huong was a normal person, in stable health, and had participated in the Church of God the Mother, but later left. Tam lived with her grandparents since she was young. Tam's father and mother worked in the South. Her father had just returned to his hometown about 2 months ago, and as soon as he heard that his daughter was missing, the mother also rushed back home. On the evening of November 4, the police summoned Mrs. Huong.
The case is being further investigated and clarified by Yen Thanh District Police in coordination with Nghe An Provincial Police Investigation Agency.
