Two foreigners detained for using fake ATM cards to withdraw money

While two foreigners were panicking at an ATM, using fake cards to withdraw money, they were ambushed and arrested by the police.

District 1 Police (Ho Chi Minh City) has just handed over two suspects: Kolin Karasimirov Kolev (born 1987) and Dimitar Tsankov Hristov (born 1991, both Bulgarian nationals, residing in District 1) along with the evidence to Ho Chi Minh City Police to expand the investigation and handle the act of using fake ATM cards to withdraw money. Initially, the two people above admitted their actions.

According to the initial investigation, Kolin Karasimirov Kolev and Dimitar Tsankov Hristov entered Vietnam on April 30 and rented a hotel room in District 1. The two Bulgarians are said to have rented a motorbike to travel to many ATM locations in Ho Chi Minh City and used fake cards to withdraw money.

The couple stated that before being arrested, they had successfully withdrawn money using fake ATM cards three times. On the morning of May 1, the couple went to an ATM on Do Quang Dau Street, Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 1 to withdraw money using fake cards, but were arrested by detectives from the Department of High-Tech Crime Prevention - Ministry of Public Security in coordination with District 1 Police, who recorded the crime in flagrante delicto./.
