Criminal detention of a group of subjects threatening the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province
On the afternoon of April 1, Major General Ho Sy Tien, Director of the Department of Investigation Police on Social Order Crimes (C45), Ministry of Public Security, confirmed to reporters that the unit had coordinated with Bac Ninh Provincial Police to temporarily detain a group of subjects who threatened the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh Province and a number of professional officials of this province.
Previously, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Nguyen Huu Thanh signed Official Dispatch No. 55/UBND-NN.TN (dated March 9, 2017) to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Transport requesting to continue to temporarily suspend the implementation of the dredging project, clearing inland waterways, and combining the collection of products on the Cau River.

The petition to the Prime Minister states: "Direct the Ministry of Public Security to investigate the cause of the incident, investigate individuals from the central to local levels who are behind the protection, threatening professional staff, leaders of departments, branches and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, making the incident increasingly serious."
The Prime Minister has requested the Ministry of Public Security to urgently investigate and clarify the subjects behind the "protection" and threats against officials, leaders of departments, branches and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, and report the results to the Prime Minister in March 2017.
Major General Ho Sy Tien said that the unit is currently coordinating with functional agencies of Bac Ninh province to clarify the criminal acts of the subjects.
