Temporarily detained over 900 bottles of wine of unknown origin

Authorities discovered a car carrying 79 cases of bottled wine named "Ma Pi Leng" without the required wine labels.

At about 5:30 a.m. on January 7, the working group of the Economic Police Department - Ha Giang Provincial Police coordinated with the Mobile Market Management Team - Ha Giang Market Management Department on duty at km 58 of National Highway 2, Ha Giang - Tuyen Quang road, and discovered a pickup truck with license plate 23C - 02457 parked with many suspicious signs.

Authorities conducted inventory and sealed the exhibits.

The working group discovered 79 cases of bottled wine bearing the "Ma Pi Leng" brand on the vehicle, without wine stamps as required and without invoices to prove their origin.

Through investigation, driver Nguyen Van Thanh and his companion, Ms. La Thi Nga, both residing in Minh Khai ward, Ha Giang, confessed to having purchased the goods floating on the market to sell. The working group made a record of temporarily confiscating 79 boxes of goods with a total of 948 bottles of wine, and continued to investigate and clarify.
