The Russian October Revolution of 1917 entered human history as a great event with profound resonance and influence, shaking and upsetting the world order. The 10-day revolution shook the world, breaking the weakest link in the chain of imperialism, marking an extremely important historical turning point. This was also the first time that the alliance of workers, peasants and soldiers, under the leadership of the working class, rose up to overthrow the Tsarist regime, establishing the Russian Soviet State - the first workers' and peasants' state in the world.
For the first time in the world, power was transferred from the hands of the exploiting minority to the hands of the exploited majority of workers. Unlike all social revolutions that have taken place in human history, which only aimed to replace one form of exploitation with another, the October Revolution contained extremely profound content aimed at eliminating all forms of class exploitation and national oppression, paving the way for victory for national independence, democracy and socialism throughout the world.

The victory of the Russian October Revolution was not only a strong motivation to encourage colonial peoples to rise up and fight against the oppression and exploitation of the feudal and bourgeois classes, to save themselves and liberate themselves, but also a strong impulse to promote the national liberation movement, as well as the international communist and workers' movement to develop and spread quickly and strongly to Asia, Africa and Latin America, making the ruling class tremble, forcing them to step back, de-escalate and change their policies.
Following the example of the October Revolution, oppressed peoples around the world rose up to fight for national independence and chose the socialist path to build their countries. Real socialism, from its victory in one country, developed into a world system.

The success of the Russian October Revolution had a great influence on world revolutions, including Vietnam. President Ho Chi Minh, the first Vietnamese patriot to absorb the light of the October Revolution, wrote: The October Revolution and Marxism-Leninism are not only a miraculous "handbook" for us, the revolutionaries and the Vietnamese people, but also the sun illuminating our path to final victory.
From the mid-late 19th century, the French colonialists invaded our country, our people continuously rose up to fight off the invaders, but were drowned in a sea of blood. The Vietnamese revolution was in a state of crisis in terms of direction and leadership. After many years of searching for a way to save the country, in July 1920, leader Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh read "The first draft of theses on national and colonial issues by V. Lenin".

On February 3, 1930, the Communist Party of Vietnam, founded and trained by President Ho Chi Minh, was established. With the right guidelines, the Communist Party of Vietnam led the entire Vietnamese people to rise up and liberate the nation from the domination of the fascist, colonialist and feudal regimes for nearly a century, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945, winning victory in two great resistance wars against French colonialism in 1954 and American imperialism in 1975.
For the Vietnamese revolution, the October Revolution was “a thunder signaling spring”, a bright sun, “food to eat”, “drinking water”. As he once affirmed: “Thanks to the French Communist Party and the Chinese Communist Party, Vietnamese revolutionaries have absorbed the vital influence of the October Revolution and Marxism-Leninism. It is like a thirsty person having water to drink, a hungry person having food to eat”.

With deep gratitude when talking about the influence of the Russian October Revolution on the Vietnamese revolution, President Ho Chi Minh said: “When drinking water, remember its source. The more we remember the humiliating days of losing our country, remember every step of the revolutionary struggle full of sacrifice, hardship but also full of glorious victories, the more the working class and people of Vietnam appreciate the great contributions of Lenin and the October Revolution”. “The attachment and gratitude of the Vietnamese people to the October Revolution, to the great Lenin… is extremely profound”.
The great and meaningful achievements of our country today are proof of the path that the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and our entire nation have unanimously chosen. This is also the basis for each Vietnamese person to have a deeper understanding of the historical stature, significance and practical value of the October Revolution, of the great Lenin for the Vietnamese revolution in particular and the world in general.
