In the second semi-final on the afternoon of June 8, England made a comeback to overcome Italy to play the final match against Venezuela. The match on June 11 will take place between two teams reaching the final for the first time, meaning that the history of the U20 World Cup will witness a new champion.
Italy opened the scoring in the third minute thanks to Orsolini's one-touch shot. However, that was all the team in blue could muster in the match as they then retreated to defend to preserve the score.
Italy's defensive style of play helped them maintain their advantage after the first half but was no longer effective in the second half. The appearance of Sheyi Ojo early in the second half created a dynamic attack on the right flank for England. From a cross from Ojo, Solanke quickly scored the equalizer.

Having lost the lead, Italy struggled to find a way to attack. Meanwhile, England continued to play with more spirit and continued to take the lead thanks to the expensive teenage player of Everton, Lookman.
Italy's efforts were ended when Solanke completed his double with a long-range shot from nearly 25 meters. The 19-year-old striker showed his worth as a top-class player in the youth ranks, who will move from Chelsea to Liverpool on July 1.
Italy paid the price for their "eating early" mentality when they took the lead very early. The team in blue has quality attacking players but gave up the chance to have a fair game with England when their opponents pushed high and left many gaps.
By reaching the final of the U20 World Cup for the first time, England has shown the progress of youth training that the Football Association has invested heavily in over the past decade. Even if they cannot win the championship, this group of players promises to be a quality generation for the Three Lions in the future.
