New VFF Technical Director: Contributing to helping the Vietnamese team attend the World Cup
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 1 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Football Federation signed a contract with Japanese Technical Director Koshida Takeshi, with the goal of investing in depth in professional work for Vietnamese football, aiming for the World Cup.
Accordingly, Mr. Koshida Takeshi (Japanese nationality) officially assumed the position of Technical Director.Vietnam Football Federation(VFF) from June 1, 2023.
Mr. Koshida Takeshi, born in 1960, is a candidate recommended by the Professional Committee of the Japan Football Association and is known as a well-trained football expert with a Pro coaching degree, as well as 30 years of experience working with major teams as well as youth teams.

Mr. Koshida Takeshi spent many years contributing to Japanese football as a player, before moving into coaching in 1995.
He was the head coach of the Ishikawa regional football team, the Kanazawa Sakuragaoka school football team...; and served as the technical director of the Zweigen Kanazawa Club - a team competing in the J-League from 2006 to 2010. In addition, he has also been an advisor to Hokuriku University since 2013.

Becoming the Technical Director of VFF, Mr. Koshida Takeshi participated as a lecturer at the coach training courses and seminars organized by VFF; coordinated with the professional department and coaches of VFF youth teams to jointly orient and train Vietnamese youth football, and was responsible for training human resources for Vietnamese football, especially the system of young coaches, Technical Directors for football clubs and centers; coordinated, improved quality, updated international information as well as the most modern and advanced methods today so that Vietnamese football could have a shorter approach to international football development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Koshida Takeshi said: "I am very honored to be the Technical Director of VFF. Vietnam is a dynamic country with a developed football industry, especially youth football. I hope I can contribute a part of my strength to the young generations, thereby helping the Vietnamese team to participate in the World Cup 2026, 2030".

VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu said: "With the relationship between Vietnam and Japan, many candidates were proposed and Mr. Takeshi was chosen as the most suitable person. There were many technical factors in the negotiation. The salary and support of both sides will not be disclosed, but VFF did not encounter many difficulties in paying Mr. Takeshi's salary."

- Degree: Bachelor of Tshukuba University, JFA "S" Certificate 2008 (equivalent to Pro degree).
- Achievements: Emperor's Cup champion 1983 and 1985 (Nissan Motors club); Japan League champion (JSL Cup) season 1988-1989; Japan U20 team player in 1979; Japan national team player from 1980-1985; is a coach with professional training with Pro; 30 years of experience working with major teams and youth teams (U22, U18); lecturer of coaching courses (C, B, A of JFA).
- Work experience:
1995 - 2000: Head coach of Ishikawa regional team
1997 - 2006: Head coach of Kanazawa Sakuragaoka school team
2006 - 2010: Technical Director of Zweigen Kanazawa (J.League)
2007-2012: Head coach of Hokuriku University team
