(Baonghean.vn) - After more than 3 months of focusing on prevention, control and containment, on July 18, the People's Committee of Tan Ky district announced the end of African swine fever in the entire district.

Over the past 3 months, the People's Committee of Tan Ky district has directed relevant sectors and commune authorities to focus on preventing, controlling and preventing African swine fever from spreading widely. In 4 communes with the epidemic, only 1 outbreak in Hamlet 1, Nghia Dong commune spread to the second outbreak.

When an outbreak occurs in any locality, the Livestock and Veterinary Station immediately carries out the task of destroying pigs; sets up temporary checkpoints with tents, beds, tables, chairs, electricity... to serve the checkpoint force 24/24 hours; strictly controls the subjects who slaughter pigs in the commune. In particular, hires a team of local forces, specializing in spraying chemicals under the supervision of the district veterinarian and the commune government...
According to data from the District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station, localities with epidemics have used 150 - 200 liters of chemicals/commune and 2 tons of lime powder/commune.
It is known that the total budget of the District People's Committee for the prevention and control of African swine fever in the past time was nearly 232 million VND.

Previously, from March 26 to June 17, in Tan Ky district, there were 4 outbreaks in the communes of Nghia Dong, Nghia Thai, Nghia Binh and Lat town.
Faced with the complicated developments of African swine fever in some neighboring districts, after announcing the end of the epidemic, the People's Committee of Tan Ky district assigned communes and towns to continue monitoring, inspecting and supervising the epidemic situation in the area to promptly report to the District People's Committee.
