According to data from Song Con Sugarcane Joint Stock Company, the unit has purchased 186 thousand tons of raw sugarcane for farmers, equivalent to more than 50% of the sugarcane area of ​​Tan Ky district.

Due to the prolonged drought last year, the sugarcane area in Tan Ky has decreased to nearly 6 thousand hectares, about 20% lower than the previous crop; sugarcane yield has also decreased, estimated at 50 tons/ha. Therefore, this crushing season is expected to end in March, more than 1 month earlier than the previous year.

For sugarcane areas that have retained their roots for more than three crops, farmers dig up the roots, prepare the land, and invest in new planting. Tan Ky's expected new sugarcane planting area this year is more than 3,000 hectares.
