New Ukrainian President Zelensky calls Russia an 'invader' and refuses to negotiate
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said he has no plans to negotiate with Russia.
At the "IFORUM–2019" forum in Kiev, in response to a question from a Public Television journalist whether there will be talks with Russia, the head of state replied: "No".
During his speech, Zelensky more than once spoke of Russia as a country that was ahead of Ukraine, calling Russia an “invader.”

In addition, in his speech on the country's future reforms, the Ukrainian president showed a photo from the Verkhovnaya Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) meeting and from the State Duma (Russian Parliament) meeting. Under it was written: "Deputies propose to return Russia to its old era."
"This is where they can lead us. I don't want any of it," he added.
Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian presidential office Andrei Bogdan said that the head of state Vladimir Zelensky intends to hold a referendum on the issue of the format of negotiations with Russia.
The Kremlin noted that the issue of holding a referendum is an internal matter for Ukraine.
“It is not our job to say whether it is a good idea or not. The main thing is to do something,” commented Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president.
