Export tax on certain coal products increased by 13%.

The export tax rate has been increased for coal products under headings 27.01 and 27.04.

On May 23rd, Deputy Minister of Finance Vu Thi Mai signed Circular No. 71/2013/TT-BTC amending the export tax rates for coal products under groups 27.01 and 27.04 in the Export Tariff Schedule according to the list of taxable items specified in Appendix I issued with Circular No. 193/2012/TT-BTC dated November 15, 2012 of the Ministry of Finance promulgating the Export Tariff Schedule and the Preferential Import Tariff Schedule according to the list of taxable items.

According to the amended circular, the tax rate on coal; briquettes; lignite and similar solid fuels produced from coal (under group 27.01) will increase to 13%.

Coke; semi-coke (made from coal); lignite or peat, whether or not agglomerated; coal tar burners (under heading 27.04) also have their tax rates increased to 13%.

This Circular takes effect from July 7, 2013./.
