Strengthening supervision and social criticism at local level

On June 30, 2022, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province held a conference to review the work of Party building, government and Democracy - Law and Religion in the first 6 months of 2022, and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2022.
The conference was chaired by Comrade Nguyen Duc Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee. Also attending the conference were representatives and leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Labor Federation, the Provincial Farmers' Association, the Provincial Women's Union, the Provincial Veterans' Association, the Provincial Youth Union, the Religious Affairs Committee; along with representatives of the Fatherland Front Committees of 21 districts, cities, towns and a number of religious establishments.
At the conference, comrade Tran Van Lam - Head of the Democracy - Law Committee briefly reported on the results of Party and government building work as well as Democracy, Law and Religion work in early 2022.
In the first 6 months of 2022, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee coordinated and organized 22 meetings between voters and National Assembly deputies with 2,784 voters attending; 820 meetings between voters and People's Councils at all levels before and after the session. In addition, 37 petitions were received and reflected, including 3 cases related to corruption and waste that were handled; the total number of violations detected by the Front and the People was 7 cases, of which 6/7 cases were handled.
In general, religious activities in the province are purely religious. Due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, many festival activities were not held in the first months of the year or were only held on a small scale with a limited number of participants.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has also paid attention to, congratulated and encouraged religious organizations and dignitaries; paid attention to building and promoting the core role of religions. Coordinated with the Vinh Diocese Bishopric to implement the coordination regulations on mobilizing and supporting the improvement of housing and livelihoods for poor households in the province.
At the conference, representatives of the Fatherland Front Committees of districts, cities and towns also discussed existing issues in the localities.
The representative of the Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Nguyen district also proposed a dialogue with the people to continue the environmental improvement project in Dai Hue hamlet to move towards project construction.Vinh Hang Ecological Cemetery Park(Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An).
Representatives of the Fatherland Front Committee of Anh Son district commented on the funding and allowances for grassroots officials and civil servants; because the support fee is too low, there is a shortage of people to take on positions at the Party Committee and government levels.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Duc Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee acknowledged the results achieved in the first 6 months of the year. Thereby, emphasizing the focus of the last 6 months of the year such as implementing plans for social supervision and criticism as well as organizing conferences to exchange experiences on improving the quality of social supervision and criticism. Strengthening the work of receiving people, handling complaints and denunciations.
Regarding religious and belief work, it is necessary to coordinate with relevant agencies to promote propaganda, education, and legal policies. It is necessary to regularly grasp the thoughts and aspirations, and collect legitimate and legal recommendations from religious dignitaries and followers to promptly propose to Party committees and authorities at all levels for consideration and resolution./.
