Strengthening coordination and effectively implementing ethnic policies

(Baonghean.vn) - On February 8, the Provincial Ethnic Committee held a conference to review ethnic work and implement ethnic policies in 2016, deploy tasks in 2017 and disseminate newly issued policies.

Attending and chairing the conference were comrades: Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Luong Thanh Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee; representatives of the Provincial People's Council; provincial departments and branches and leaders of districts and towns where ethnic minorities live.

In 2016, the Provincial Ethnic Committee did a good job of advising the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and Provincial People's Committee on ethnic affairs and implementing ethnic policies. Effectively implementing programs and policies on hunger eradication and poverty reduction, supporting socio-economic development through pilot models and projects; preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic minorities and disseminating specific local policies through competitions, organizing training courses, etc.

In implementing the tasks of 2017, the Provincial Ethnic Committee aims to closely follow the targets of the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels, the programs and projects of the Central and the province on ethnic policies to focus on effective direction. Continue to advise the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on implementing policies to recruit ethnic minorities, implement programs and projects in the area, review and identify particularly difficult villages and hamlets.

Advise the Provincial People's Committee to coordinate the organization of national conferences on Thai studies, promote propaganda on ethnic policies, innovate and strengthen management, monitor and grasp the situation of illegal migration and proselytizing...

At the conference, the Ethnic Committee also disseminated a number of new policies for ethnic minorities such as investment and use of human resources, investment and sustainable development, education and training development, preservation and promotion of cultural identity, policies for cadres and prestigious people in ethnic minorities, tourism development, information and communication...

Attending the conference, delegates from a number of departments, branches, districts and towns discussed the implementation of ethnic work and policies, raised difficulties and obstacles to find solutions.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Le Minh Thong requested that cadres working on ethnic affairs improve their professional qualifications and promote coordination to improve the effectiveness of ethnic policy implementation, especially the hunger eradication and poverty reduction policy. At the same time, pay more attention to policy beneficiaries, cadres, prestigious people and ethnic minority students, contributing to the stability and development of the socio-economy.
