Strengthening measures to prevent and control measles-like rash outbreaks.
1. Department of Health:

To strengthen the prevention and control of the measles-like outbreak in Pieng Cooc and Mai Son villages, Tuong Duong district, and to ensure that the outbreak does not recur and spread to surrounding residential areas, the Provincial People's Committee requests the directors and departments; the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district and the heads of relevant units to urgently direct the serious and timely implementation of the following contents:
1. Department of Health:
- Directing units within the sector to urgently implement measures to control and completely eradicate the epidemic, ensuring that the disease does not re-emerge or spread to surrounding areas and other localities in the province.
- Mobilize personnel, medicines, and medical equipment from provincial hospitals to support field treatment areas in epidemic zones, ensuring effective patient admission and treatment, and minimizing severe complications and deaths.
- Directing relevant health units to advise local authorities on the early and effective implementation of the measles-rubella vaccination campaign in communes, wards, towns, villages, and hamlets with low rates of routine vaccination (especially mountainous, remote, and isolated areas).
2. Department of Education and Training:
Direct the education and training departments of districts, cities, and towns to coordinate with the health sector at the same level:
- Widely disseminate information among students and parents about measures to prevent and control measles-like rash outbreaks; suspend classes in cases of high risk of widespread outbreaks and upon recommendation from relevant health units.
- The measles-rubella vaccination campaign for children aged 1-14 years has achieved its set targets.
3. Department of Finance:
In coordination with the Department of Health, promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee to allocate funds to relevant units (Department of Health, Tuong Duong District People's Committee, Mai Son Commune) to implement disease prevention and control measures.
4. Department of Information and Communications:
Directing subordinate units to proactively coordinate with the health sector to implement community outreach and awareness campaigns on disease prevention and control measures, through easily accessible communication methods suitable for each region.
5. Provincial Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper:
Actively coordinate with the Department of Health and relevant units to develop articles, reports, and updated news to raise community awareness about how to detect symptoms and preventive measures against measles-like rash; guide public opinion to avoid panic in the community; and especially focus on promoting the benefits of vaccinating children against measles and rubella in the campaign approved by the Provincial People's Committee.
6. People's Committee of Tuong Duong District:
Directing relevant departments, organizations, and units; the People's Committee of Mai Son commune and the People's Committees of other communes in the district:
- Urgently and decisively implement measures to control and suppress the epidemic, ensuring that it does not break out and spread to other areas in Mai Son commune, Tuong Duong district, and other localities in the province.
- Coordinate with the Department of Health and its affiliated units to urgently and effectively implement professional measures for epidemic prevention and control; be prepared to admit and treat patients, minimizing complications and deaths caused by the epidemic.
- Coordinate with other departments and agencies to perform their assigned functions in order to contribute to controlling the epidemic early and effectively.
- Timely allocation of funds from the district's contingency budget to relevant units to implement necessary activities for epidemic prevention and control.
