Strengthening the prevention and control of measles-like rash fever

To strengthen the prevention and control of measles-like rash fever outbreaks in Pieng Cooc and Mai Son villages, Tuong Duong district, ensuring that the epidemic does not re-emerge and spread to surrounding residential areas, the Provincial People's Committee requests directors and departments, branches; Chairman of Tuong Duong district People's Committee and heads of relevant units to urgently direct the serious and timely implementation of the following contents:

1. Department of Health:

- Direct units in the industry to urgently take measures to control and completely suppress the epidemic, ensuring that the epidemic does not re-emerge and spread to surrounding areas and other localities in the province.

- Mobilize human resources, drugs, medical equipment and supplies from provincial hospitals to support field treatment areas in epidemic areas to ensure effective admission and treatment of patients, minimizing cases of serious complications and deaths.

- Direct relevant health units to advise authorities at all levels to promptly and effectively deploy the measles-rubella vaccination campaign in communes, wards, towns, villages and hamlets with low rates of periodic vaccination (especially in mountainous communes and hamlets, remote and isolated areas).

2. Department of Education and Training:

Direct the Department of Education and Training of districts, cities and towns to coordinate with the health sector at the same level:

- Widely disseminate information to students and parents about measures to prevent and control measles-like rash fever; allow students to stay home from school in case of risk of widespread epidemic and with recommendations from medical units at the same level.

- Implementing the measles-rubella vaccination campaign for children aged 1-14 years old to achieve the set target.

3. Department of Finance:

Coordinate with the Department of Health, promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee to arrange funding for relevant units (Department of Health, People's Committee of Tuong Duong district, Mai Son commune) to deploy epidemic prevention and control work.

4. Department of Information and Communications:

Direct affiliated units to proactively coordinate with the health sector to deploy communication to mobilize the community to implement disease prevention and control measures, through easily accessible communication forms suitable for each region and area.

5. Provincial Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper:

Actively coordinate with the Department of Health and related units to develop articles, reports, and update news to raise public awareness on how to detect symptoms and measures to prevent measles-like rash fever; guide public opinion to avoid panic in the community; in particular, focus on promoting the benefits of vaccinating children against measles and rubella in the campaign whose plan has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee.

6. People's Committee of Tuong Duong district:

Directing relevant departments, branches, organizations, and units; Mai Son Commune People's Committee and other communes in the district:

- Urgently and drastically deploy measures to control and suppress the epidemic, ensuring that the epidemic does not break out and spread to other areas in Mai Son commune, Tuong Duong district and other localities in the province.

- Coordinate with the Department of Health and units under the Department of Health to promptly and effectively deploy professional measures to prevent and control epidemics; be ready to admit and treat patients, minimizing complications and deaths due to epidemics.

- Coordinate with other departments and branches to perform assigned functions to contribute to early and effective disease control.

- Timely arrange funding from the district's reserve budget to relevant units to deploy necessary activities for epidemic prevention and control.
