Strengthening the fight against crime and protecting national security

In the first 6 months of 2021, the Army and Police forces at all levels have organized to thoroughly grasp and uniformly and effectively implement the contents and coordination measures in accordance with Decree No. 03. Proactively advising the Party, State, Party committees and local authorities to promptly and effectively handle situations, avoiding being caught off guard.

In particular, the two forces coordinated to ensure absolute security for Party Congresses at all levels, the 13th National Party Congress; the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term; effectively combating all types of crimes, refuting the wrong views of hostile forces; actively participating inCovid-19 prevention and controland other activities, contributing to maintaining national border sovereignty, ensuring political security, order and social safety, are trusted, recognized and highly appreciated by the Party, State, Party committees, authorities and people.

At the conference, delegates contributed many important ideas on coordination between the two Ministries of National Defense and Public Security in all fields; at the same time, pointed out shortcomings and limitations and proposed solutions to overcome them.

In Nghe An, in the first 6 months of 2021, under the leadership and direction of superior agencies, the provincial armed forces proactively coordinated to advise and direct the effective resolution of emerging security and order issues. In particular, coordinated investigations to clarify 519/581 cases of violations of social order (reaching 89.3%); of which, serious and especially serious cases reached 100%), arrested 1,564 subjects, seized money and assets worth nearly 12.5 billion VND. Detected and arrested 914 cases, 1,236 subjects, seized 27.8 kg of heroin, 159.4 kg of crystal meth, 10.6 kg of synthetic drugs, 162,000 MTTH pills, 74.5 kg of opium, 0.3 kg of marijuana; of which 29 drug rings were eliminated.

Detected and arrested 2,407 cases, 2,637 subjects, seized 2.8 tons of firecrackers, 38 tons of animals, 320m³Wood and many smuggled goods of unknown origin and source worth about 15 billion VND. In particular, the police of local units coordinated with the Border Guard force and militia at all levels to detect, arrest and handle 48 cases, 72 subjects violating criminal law, confiscating 30 heroin cakes, 19,552 kg of heroin, 88,105 MTTH pills, 5 kg of ketamine, 226 kg of crystal meth, 283,093 kg of firecrackers, 24 kg of explosives and many other related exhibits.

Concluding the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the General Staff, Deputy Minister of National Defense stated that in the last 6 months of 2021, the world and regional situation is forecast to be complicated; strategic competition and trade conflicts between major countries are fierce; the global economy continues to decline and experience crisis due to the severe impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The East Sea still has many uncertainties...

In the country, hostile and reactionary forces have intensified their sabotage activities with increasingly sophisticated methods and tricks. The border, the southwestern sea and some key areas pose new potential risks of complexity. The situation of crime and law violations remains complicated and tends to increase, especially corruption, drug andhigh-tech crimeimpact on the task of ensuring national defense and security.

Faced with the above situation, it is required that the Army and Police forces strengthen solidarity, closely connect, proactively grasp, monitor, assess, and forecast the situation early, promptly report and advise the Party and State on measures, compare and fight, firmly protect the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Fatherland, defeat the sabotage plots of hostile and reactionary forces, and avoid being passive and surprised.
