(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 11th, a delegation from the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee, led by Comrade Nguyen Hoang Anh - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Cao Bang Provincial People's Council, held a working session with the leaders of Nghe An province.

Welcoming the delegation, on the provincial side were: Mr. Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and other members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, the Provincial Party Secretary, Ho Duc Phoc, provided some information on the province's socio-economic situation during the past term. Despite facing many difficulties, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the efforts of all sectors, levels, and businesses, the province's socio-economic development achieved encouraging results: a growth rate of 7.84%; GDP doubled compared to the beginning of the term; and the economic structure shifted in the right direction. The New Rural Development Program developed rapidly and strongly, transforming the face of rural areas; to date, 77 communes in the province have achieved the status of new rural communes.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, delivered a welcoming speech to the delegation of leaders from Cao Bang province visiting and working in Nghe An.

During the term, Nghe An attracted 373 projects with a total registered capital of 86,372 billion VND, including 17 foreign projects. Many leading Vietnamese enterprises such as Hoa Sen Group, Masan, The Visai Ninh Binh, Saigon Beer, etc., invested in Nghe An, increasing local budget revenue and creating jobs. Along with attracting investment to develop industrial projects, the province also promoted investment in high-tech agriculture, forming raw material areas and contributing to the development of the western part of the province.

Provincial Party Secretary Ho Duc Phoc exchanged information with the Cao Bang provincial delegation regarding the socio-economic situation of Nghe An during the past term.

In particular, the technical infrastructure sector has received significant investment, with many key projects such as the expansion of National Highway 1A, the upgrading of Vinh Airport to an international airport, the Hoang Mai-Dong Hoi road, the West Nghe An road, the inauguration of overpasses, and the construction of seaports, etc.

Comrade Hoang Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee, expressed his wish for the two provinces to continue strengthening exchanges and cooperation to maximize the potential and strengths of their respective localities.

The education and training sector has seen many positive changes, and culture has developed vibrantly and widely, especially with the recognition of Nghe Tinh folk songs as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO… Healthcare has received significant investment, with the construction of a system of medical facilities to meet the needs of the people for examination and treatment.

Besides focusing on socio-economic development, the province pays attention to social welfare, mobilizing social capital for poverty alleviation with practical methods such as the movement of each agency and unit assisting one poor commune. In the coming term, the province will focus on developing its potential and advantages, striving to make Nghe An a relatively prosperous province in the Northern region by 2020, and a center for finance, trade, tourism, education and training, science and technology, culture and sports, and high-tech industry in the North Central region, with synchronized infrastructure, guaranteed political security, and an increasingly improved standard of living for the people, in accordance with Resolution No. 26 of the Politburo on the direction and tasks for the development of Nghe An province until 2020. This requires the province to take shortcuts and create breakthroughs to achieve the set goals.

During the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Hoang Anh, Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee, expressed his pleasure at the achievements of the Nghe An Party Committee and people. This visit to Nghe An is an opportunity for Cao Bang to learn from, exchange, and share experiences with Nghe An in various fields. He emphasized that Nghe An and Cao Bang have a special relationship, and in the coming time, the two localities need to strengthen cooperation and exchange to promote the strengths of each locality, such as connecting "historical sites" to develop tourism and service industries, and developing agricultural exports, etc.
