Salaries increased across the board starting in 2016.
The Deputy Prime Minister instructed relevant agencies to study adjusting the basic salary level based on the Ministry of Finance's revenue generation results.
In the third quarter of 2015, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs was required to submit to the Government a Decree stipulating the regional minimum wage for workers in enterprises applicable for the year 2016.
This is the content of Decision 64/QD-BCDCCTLBHXH dated May 12, 2015, of the Central Steering Committee on reform of salary, social insurance and preferential policies for meritorious people.

In addition, Decision 64 also addresses the study of adjusting the basic salary level, reforming social insurance, and fully implementing policies for people with meritorious services.
According to the assignment of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh - Head of the Central Steering Committee on reform of salary policies, social insurance and preferential treatment for meritorious people, in 2015, the Ministry of Interior will coordinate with a number of relevant ministries and agencies to study adjusting the basic salary level based on the revenue generation results of the Ministry of Finance.
The Ministry of Interior will take the lead and coordinate with relevant agencies to continue researching the reform plan for salary policies for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and the armed forces, to submit to the Central Committee when resources are balanced; and to research and develop a standard salary scale based on a salary level that fully meets the minimum needs for public non-business units, as stipulated in point b, Clause 3 of Conclusion No. 63-KL/TW.
Regarding wage policies for workers in enterprises, the Deputy Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to research and review the roadmap for adjusting regional minimum wage levels to suit the production and business situation and to ensure the minimum living needs of workers are met as soon as possible.
In addition, decrees stipulating the autonomy mechanism of public non-business units in the fields of economic and other services, education and training, health, science and technology, information and communication and journalism, culture, sports and tourism, and vocational training will be submitted to the Government by relevant ministries and agencies in 2015.
