Increase monthly allowance for retired commune officials
This is the content stipulated in Circular 08/2018/TT-BNV recently issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs guiding the adjustment of monthly allowance levels for commune officials who have retired according to Decision No. 130-CP dated June 20, 1975 of the Government Council and Decision No. 111-HDBT dated October 13, 1981 of the Council of Ministers.
Specifically, from July 1, 2018, the monthly allowance level for retired old communal officials will be adjusted according to the provisions of Article 2 of Decree No. 88/2018/ND-CP of the Government, adjusting pensions, social insurance benefits and monthly allowances to increase by 6.92% of the monthly allowance level above the allowance level enjoyed at the time of June 2018.

Accordingly, the formula for adjusting the monthly subsidy level from July 1, 2018 is as follows:
Monthly allowance from 1/7/2018 | = | Subsidy level as of June 2018 | x | 1.0692 |
Based on the above formula, the monthly allowance received from July 1, 2018 for retired old communal cadres (rounded) is calculated as follows.
For former Party Secretary and Chairman of the Commune People's Committee: VND 1,846,000/month x 1.0692 = VND 1,974,000/month.
For former officials who are deputy secretaries, vice presidents, standing members of the Party Committee, secretaries of the People's Committee, secretaries of the People's Council of the commune, commune militia leaders, commune police chiefs: VND 1,786,000/month x 1.0692 = VND 1,910,000/month.
For the remaining positions: VND 1,653,000/month x 1.0692 = VND 1,768,000/month.
Circular 08 takes effect from August 15, 2018, the regimes prescribed in this Circular are implemented from July 1, 2018.
