Increase subsidies and preferential allowances for meritorious people

According to Decree No. 70/2017/ND-CP of the Government, the standard level to determine subsidy and preferential allowance levels for people with revolutionary contributions is increased from VND 1,318,000 to VND 1,417,000.

Specifically, Decree No. 70/2017/ND-CP stipulates the level of allowances and preferential subsidies for people with revolutionary contributions, the allowances and subsidies for some groups of people with revolutionary contributions as follows: People who participated in revolutionary activities before January 1, 1945, with an exemption level of 1,583,000 VND/month, an allowance of 268,000/1 year of seniority; those who do not participate in revolutionary activities have an allowance level of 2,688,000 VND/month. Death benefits for relatives of people who participated in revolutionary activities before January 1, 1945 who passed away are 1,417,000 VND/month.

Revolutionary activists from January 1, 1945 to the August 1945 uprising were subsidized 1,465,000 VND/month. The death benefit for relatives of revolutionary activists from January 1, 1945 to the August 1945 uprising who passed away was 795,000 VND/month.

The pension for the relative of 1 martyr is 1,417,000 VND/month; the pension for the relative of 2 martyrs is 2,834,000 VND/month; for the relative of 3 or more martyrs, the pension is 4,251,000 VND/month; the pension for the wife or husband of a martyr who marries another person (not eligible for additional pension for foster care) is 1,417,000 VND/month.

Vietnamese Heroic Mothers (receiving monthly pensions at the pension level for relatives of martyrs as above) are entitled to an allowance of 1,188,000 VND/month. The allowance for those who take care of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers living in the family is 1,417,000 VND/month.

Heroes of the People's Armed Forces and Labor Heroes during the resistance war receive a subsidy of VND 1,188,000/month.

War invalids and people enjoying policies like war invalids receive disability allowances from VND 955,000/month - VND 4,543,000/month depending on the rate of loss of working capacity.

Type B disabled soldiers receive disability benefits from 788,000 VND/month to 3,759,000 VND/month depending on the rate of reduced working capacity.
