At its extraordinary session on October 24th, the People's Council of Thua Thien Hue province approved the entrance fee rates for historical and cultural relics in Hue, part of the Hue Imperial Citadel complex, until 2020.
Accordingly, the entrance fee for both domestic and foreign visitors to Hue Imperial Palace will increase to 120,000 VND per adult and 30,000 VND per child; for Minh Mang Tomb, Tu Duc Tomb, and Khai Dinh Tomb, the fee will be 100,000 VND per adult and 20,000 VND per child...
The old fees that have long been applied to international visitors ranged from 40,000 VND to 105,000 VND per person per location per visit; for domestic visitors, it ranged from 30,000 VND to 75,000 VND per person per location per visit.
Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Hue Ancient Citadel Conservation Center, said: “Currently, the State has paid great attention to the restoration and preservation of heritage sites. However, our resources are still limited, so adjusting ticket prices to increase revenue and reinvest in the restoration and preservation of heritage sites is necessary. We have compared our prices with other localities with World Heritage sites and countries in the region to make appropriate adjustments that do not affect tour routes.”
