Giving Tet gifts to the poor in localities

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 18, localities, agencies and units in the province organized Tet gift giving to poor households and policy families.

*Staff, teachers, Parents Association of Ha Huy Tap High School - Vinh Citygiving gifts to poor students in Muong Tip commune, Ky Son district.

After a short time of calling for donations, the school has raised 40 million VND from contributions from staff, teachers, Parents' Association and students. The school's delegation led by Mr. Hoang Minh Luong - Party Secretary and Principal of the school visited and presented gifts to Muong Tip Boarding Secondary School. Here, the delegation presented 70 blankets, 500 notebooks, candies and 5 million VND in cash to poor students in especially difficult circumstances.

On this occasion, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Muong Tip Border Guard Station and Muong Ai Commune Kindergarten.

*Provincial Business Bloc Party CommitteeCoordinated with a number of banks in Nghe An to organize the giving of 20 gifts to 20 poor households in Nghia An commune, 50 gifts to 50 poor households in Nghia Loi commune and 30 gifts to poor households in other communes in Nghia Dan; each gift is worth 500 thousand VND and in kind.

The delegation also presented a gift to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Vo Thi Sau (Hamlet 2A, Nghia An). The gifts demonstrate the spirit of mutual love, contributing to helping poor households in Nghia Dan celebrate the Lunar New Year 2019 happily and warmly.

On the same afternoon, the Party Committee of the Enterprise Bloc also coordinated with a Bank Branch in the province to visit and present 60 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, to poor patients at Nghe An General Friendship Hospital.

*Office, Youth Union of Provincial People's Committeepresented gifts and 12 million VND to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Tran Thi Chau (104 years old), residing in Block 6, Thanh Chuong town.

Mother Tran Thi Chau had 2 children who heroically sacrificed in the war against America to save the country. The delegation visited her health, wished her to always live happily and healthily, to be a shining example for her children and grandchildren to follow and learn from. It is known that this is the 3rd year that the Provincial People's Committee Office has taken care of her.

* Comrade Vi Van Suu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial Inspectoras Head of the delegation, together with representatives of the Party Committee, Trade Union and Youth Union of the Provincial Inspectorate, visited and presented 21 Tet gifts (each gift worth 500,000 VND) to 21 poor households with especially difficult circumstances in Quang Phong commune, Que Phong district.

*Working delegation of Nghe An Provincial People's ProcuracyThe delegation led by Mr. Ton Thien Phuong - Director of Nghe An Provincial People's Procuracy visited and presented 24 gifts, including 14 gifts to poor families, each worth 1 million VND; 10 gifts to families of meritorious people, each worth 500,000 VND in Chau Thang commune, Quy Chau district.

The gifts were donated by officials, civil servants and employees of the Provincial People's Procuracy to share difficulties with people in difficult circumstances of Chau Thang commune on the occasion of Tet holiday.

*Nghe An Provincial Red Cross SocietyIn coordination with Vinamilk Dairy Company in Nghe An and some other sponsors, 100 Tet gifts were presented to poor households (each gift included 10kg of rice and 300,000 VND), 73 blankets to policy families and meritorious people in Tho Son commune, Anh Son district.

On this occasion, the delegation also presented 501 warm coats and fresh milk to students of Tho Son Kindergarten and Primary School, 69 warm coats to students of Tho Son Secondary School; 20 scholarships and 20 blankets to poor but excellent students; the total value of the gifts was 180 million VND.

The delegation also visited and presented gifts to the family of Mrs. Pham Thi Huong in village 5, Tho Son commune, who is in especially difficult circumstances, and the family of Mrs. Hoang Thi Nhung in village 10, Tho Son commune, who is disabled.

*Provincial Customs Department delegationvisited and presented many gifts to students and poor households in the border commune of Nam Can, Ky Son.

At the People's Committee of Nam Can commune, the youth union members of the provincial Customs Department presented 50 gifts, each worth 500 thousand VND, to 50 poor households in the commune; presented over 350 warm coats to 350 students of Nam Can Kindergarten; and presented 2 scholarships, each worth 1 million VND to Luong Van Ot and Ho Y Lau, students of Nam Can Ethnic Minority Secondary School.

On this occasion, the delegation presented 3 breeding cows, each worth over 10 million VND, to 3 poor households in especially difficult circumstances in Khanh Thanh village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district.

The total value of the gifts is over 100 million VND. This is the amount of money donated by the staff of Nghe An Customs Sub-Department with their monthly salaries, and mobilized support from a number of benefactors.

*Representative of the leaders of the Vinh City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee,The City Fatherland Front Committee and the Vinh City Association of Agent Orange Victims visited and gave Tet gifts to Agent Orange victims and those who had accidents and risks in life.

The delegation visited and presented gifts to Mr. Dau Xuan Cuong in Hamlet 10, Nghi Phu Commune, who was electrocuted and is currently being treated at Military Hospital 103, and to other cases of Agent Orange infection, including Mr. Pham Ngoc Hau, a parishioner, a 2/4 war invalid (Hamlet 6, Nghi Phuc Commune), Mr. Hoang Thanh Tao (Block 19, Hung Binh Ward) and Mr. Bui Duc Cuong (Block 8, Ben Thuy Ward); each gift was worth 1 million VND.

*Cua Lo Towndonated 60 million VND to support 3 poor households to build Great Solidarity houses, donated 20 million VND to support the goat breeding model, and donated 20 gifts to 20 poor households (each worth 600,000 VND) in Nghia Tho commune (Nghia Dan).

On this occasion, Cua Lo Town also presented the People's Committee of Nghia Tho Commune with a Photocopy machine to facilitate the agency in performing its tasks. Cua Lo Town is the locality assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to help Nghia Tho Commune./.
