Two bricks for wife's birthday
The husband, a manager of a ceramic company, sent his wife two bricks, jokingly implying that he wanted their love to be as solid as a rock.
On his wife's previous birthdays, Mr. Tran Duong, 47 years old, in Uong Bi (Quang Ninh) often gave his wife flowers and rings. On June 1st this year, which was his wife's 45th birthday, Ms. Van Anh, the husband, who liked to "troll" his wife, suddenly thought of a unique gift. |
Working at a brick construction company, Mr. Duong arrived at the office at 8am and immediately picked up two bricks and put them in a large box. Then he carried the box to a souvenir shop, intending to buy paper and ribbon to wrap it. But then he thought, he couldn’t wrap it even if he went home, so he asked the store to wrap it for him. |
"I hesitated for a long time, then said I would borrow a private room from the store. I carried the flowers to the bathroom, stuffed them on two bricks, then stuffed a piece of foam on top, and then dared to carry them out for the store to wrap, because I was afraid they would be embarrassed," said Mr. Duong. |
During their 22 years of marriage, Mr. Duong often criticized his wife, so to avoid falling into her trap, the husband cleverly typed and wrote the wrong name of the giver. After 9am, the gift was present at Ms. Van Anh's office, the district education department accountant. |
"Dad intentionally wrote the wrong sender's name to trick mom into opening the gift right at the office. As a result, mom's coworkers all laughed and even took pictures and videos. At 10 o'clock, dad called but mom was too embarrassed to answer the phone," said Duyen, the couple's eldest daughter. |
That evening, Mr. Duong came home early to clean up, cook dinner for his wife, and then the whole family gathered to celebrate the birthday of "the most powerful woman in the house". |
In addition to the above gift, Mr. Duong also wrote a "heartfelt letter" to his wife. In it, he wished that their love would be as strong as..."these two bricks". |
Duyen added that this gift was just one of the many times her father teased her mother. |
