Motivate young people to commit and contribute
(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024), Nghe An Newspaper had a conversation with comrade Le Van Luong - Member of the Central Standing Committee of the Youth Union, Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union.
PV:Dear comrade, the story of young people and their commitment has been a topic that has attracted much attention from society in recent times. In your opinion, what is the commitment of young people and how have the youth of Nghe An committed themselves?
Comrade Le Van Luong:In my opinion, the commitment of youth is the willingness to overcome difficulties and challenges to achieve the set goals. Commitment is not for one's own benefit but for the common benefit of the collective, truly selfless and pure in the environment in which one is operating and working.
Regardless of the conditions or circumstances, the most common denominator that creates the value and contribution of youth is commitment.

Commitment must truly become a reason for living, a driving force that urges young people to act for a greater cause. On the other hand, with a willingness to commit, young people also create for themselves an environment to practice, accumulate, challenge and mature in thinking, perception and action.
According to that viewpoint, Nghe An youth in recent times have basically promoted the tradition of their homeland, have strong political will, contributed intelligence, youth and enthusiasm to carry out many new and difficult tasks towards the community and society.

Just recently, many young people have volunteered to join the army. In those applications, there is a burning desire to contribute and grow in the army, even though they know it is a harsh and thorny environment.
The youth volunteer movement with a focus on sending human resources and mobilizing material resources to support disadvantaged villages and communes, remote areas, has always been carried out enthusiastically and responsibly by the province's youth.

With the efforts of the youth, many bridges, charity houses, spacious and orderly IT rooms have been built..., towards the people and difficult areas of the province. In localities that are completing the criteria for new rural construction, the image of young people working together to build roads, install lighting systems, and eliminate black spots of waste... has become familiar to local authorities and people.

In particular, during the time the whole province was struggling to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic, the youth of the whole province coordinated with other forces to establish and maintain 750 rapid response youth volunteer teams to participate in disease prevention and control with more than 45,000 union members and youths participating.

In particular, the Youth Union has coordinated with the health sector to call on volunteers and medical students to participate in the fight against the epidemic. Many new models and good practices in making disinfectant solutions, disinfectant machines, promoting the installation of Bluezone and Ncovi software, health declaration, wearing masks, measuring body temperature, social distancing, etc. have contributed significantly to the entire province's effective and safe fight against the epidemic.
Those efforts have enhanced the image of the green volunteer uniform at times when society needs them. It is a dedicated effort that has been recognized and agreed upon by the people and the Party Committee.

PV:The commitment of Nghe An youth in social security activities towards the community is clearly visible. So, what about the economic field, comrade?
Comrade Le Van Luong:It can be said that the young people's commitment to establishing themselves and starting a business is not only an opportunity for them to pursue their passion but also to create value for society. In Nghe An, there is no shortage of examples of young people overcoming difficulties to start a business. These could be disabled young people like Hoang Kim Vi (born in 1992) in Hung Nguyen district who has strongly overcome the obstacles of health to successfully develop a comprehensive farm model.
Even disabled youth Le Van Dong (born in 1994) in Thai Hoa town has successfully started a business model of food service and fulfilled his role as a Youth Union - Association officer in the place where he lives.

Along with that, entering the 4.0 revolution, many union members and young people in Nghe An have had a sharp mind, quickly adapting to the times to start a business on a digital technology platform. A typical example is young man Nghiem Tien Vien (born in 1990) with the GoStream application supporting livestream on the Facebook platform Top 30 World, and is 1 of 6 startups introduced at Techfest USA 2019...

On a provincial scale, by the end of 2023, Nghe An youth had 1,655 economic models, ideas, and initiatives of union members and youths deployed and realized by the Youth Union, excellently exceeding the set targets.

The effective operation of these economic types has shown the strong entrepreneurial spirit of Nghe An youth in the new situation. From here, it has contributed significantly to the development of the whole province's economy, supporting job creation for thousands of local workers.
PV:Obviously, Nghe An youth have reaped sweet fruits after many efforts, dedication and contributions. So behind those achievements, is the Youth Union organization a support for union members and young people to practice and mature?
Comrade Le Van Luong:The Youth Union is implementing 3 programs to accompany and support young people, including: Accompanying young people in studying; Accompanying young people in starting a business; Accompanying young people in training and developing life skills, improving physical health, cultural and spiritual life.

For the first Program, the Youth Union at all levels organized many practical activities, encouraged young people to study, improve their qualifications, and promoted the building of a friendly and positive learning environment for young people. Gradually coordinated with educational institutions to effectively implement the movements "5 Good Students", "3 Good Students", "3 Practiced Students" to create conditions for students to develop in the most comprehensive way.

For the second program, the Youth Union at all levels has implemented many activities to provide consultation, connection, and career and employment orientation for young people. In areas with many shortages, the Youth Union at all levels has made great efforts and creativity in searching for and organizing activities to accompany young people.
In 2023, the outstanding loan balance entrusted through the Social Policy Bank of the Youth Union reached over VND 2,125 billion (up 17% compared to the beginning of 2022), lending capital to 400 policy households and young people to develop the economy and create jobs.
Many youth economic development models have emerged, generating annual incomes of 200 to 400 million VND, creating a bright premise for economic development for the youth force and union members of the whole province.
Finally, creating a training environment and organizing practical activities for young people to participate in such as supporting the community, joining hands to implement projects towards disadvantaged areas, participating in cultural connection activities, etc. has helped union members and young people to cultivate a sense of responsibility and patriotism. From there, they become active citizens and contribute to the development of society.

PV:We have discussed the meaning of commitment and dedication, so what advice do you have for young people in the province to strive to achieve that?
Comrade Le Van Luong:Young people can understand the meaning of commitment, but not everyone can actually take concrete actions and deeds right away. In my opinion, in order for young people to be able to live a committed life and create good values for themselves, the community and society, there are 4 factors that they need to build. That is, upgrading themselves, believing in themselves, daring to face their fears and building a reasonable plan and roadmap.

Self-improvement is a process of continuous learning, developing skills and knowledge. Young people need to constantly update information, participate in courses and training to improve their professional qualifications and soft skills. In addition, they also need to participate in practical activities to accumulate experience and broaden their horizons.
When they have valuable knowledge and experience, self-confidence will help them find solutions to complex problems. At the same time, encourage themselves and others around them to dare to face their fears. That is the premise for young people to develop mental strength, courage and the ability to solve problems creatively.

Ultimately, planning and creating a roadmap is the process of setting specific goals and taking steps to achieve them. Young people need to have a clear plan that can be adjusted flexibly over time to move forward each day towards success.
I believe that these will be solid foundations for them to realize their ambitions to build their own future and contribute to the community and society!
PV:Thanks for the chat, comrade!
