The 7th BRICS summit is scheduled to take place on July 8 and 9, while the 15th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will be held on July 9 and 10 in Ufa, the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan in Russia.

President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin will discuss coordinating the two countries' plans to promote regional trade and infrastructure development, bilateral cooperation within multilateral frameworks, including BRICS and SCO, and coordination and cooperation on regional and global issues, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping said at a press conference yesterday.

Mr. Trinh stated that the Russia-China partnership "is not aimed at any third party." "It is a new model of international relations that demonstrates cooperation and reciprocity."

Mr. Trinh also said that Xi Jinping, Putin, and Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj will meet when Xi Jinping is in Ufa to discuss trilateral cooperation.

Commenting on the information that Greece was invited to the BRICS meeting, Mr. Trinh said that Russia, as the host country, had invited countries outside the BRICS group, but did not confirm whether the Greek prime minister would attend. The core members of BRICS include Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

"The Greek crisis will not only have a strong impact on the European Union (EU), but also on the global economy. The EU is actively consulting with Greece, and we hope the crisis can be resolved appropriately through the efforts of all parties," the Chinese vice minister said.
