Training on reviewing poor and near-poor households.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 12th, Dien Chau district organized a training course on the review of poor and near-poor households in 2015 and the implementation of a multidimensional approach to poverty measurement from a one-dimensional to a multidimensional approach for the period 2016-2020 for more than 500 participants, including commune leaders and village heads from 458 villages in the district.

Here, trainees were introduced to the criteria for surveying and reviewing poor and near-poor households, and conducted surveys on criteria such as the level of deficiency in accessing basic social services in health, education, housing, clean water, sanitation, and access to information. Delegates were also guided on the procedures for surveying household characteristics and methods for classification, compilation, and public disclosure.

According to the survey results from the end of 2014, Dien Chau district still has more than 4,200 poor households, equivalent to 5.62%. The District People's Committee requested that the units conducting the survey ensure transparency, democracy, adherence to procedures, and targeting the correct beneficiaries, avoiding duplication or omissions, in order to ensure the implementation of social welfare policies for the period 2016-2020.

According to the plan, from now until December 15th, the communes will complete the survey and review work and compile the results for submission to the district. The District People's Committee will then compile and submit the results to the Provincial People's Committee before December 17th.
