Focus on the election of deputies to the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 25, under the chairmanship of Comrade Cao Thi Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held a regular meeting to evaluate activities in April; deploy some key tasks in May 2016.

Also attending the meeting were leaders of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An; Office of the Provincial People's Committee and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

In April, the Standing Committee and Committees of the Provincial People's Council focused on coordinating with the Provincial Election Committee and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to deploy preparations for the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term according to the prescribed procedures and schedule.

Deploy a plan to survey the settlement of complaints and denunciations in Nghi Loc district, Quynh Luu, Vinh city and a number of departments and branches; supervise the implementation of Resolutions issued by the Provincial People's Council.

Assigning the Provincial People's Council delegates to receive citizens according to the provisions of law, and participating in receiving citizens at the Provincial Citizen Reception Council on a monthly basis. In April, the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council also received 5 complaints and denunciations from citizens; at the same time, issued an official dispatch to forward the petitions to the competent authority for settlement.

The Standing Committee and the Provincial People's Council Committees also examined and gave opinions on a number of issues arising between the two sessions. These included giving opinions on the plan to adjust the price list of some agricultural land plots in Do Luong district; deciding on the investment in the wastewater treatment system project in Zone B, Nam Cam Industrial Park; the policy of land recovery and change of land use purpose to implement works and projects in Vinh city and Cua Lo town....

Deputy Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Duong explained a number of issues raised by the Standing Committee and the Committees, such as poor quality of cement for new rural construction; management of agricultural and forestry land...

After listening to the delegates discuss and raise a number of issues of concern, Comrade Cao Thi Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, emphasized that the key task in May is still to focus on directing the election work to achieve the best results. Prepare content to organize the first session of the Provincial People's Council, term XVII, 2016 - 2021 right after the election. Pay attention to perfecting the organizational apparatus after separating the Office of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and the Office of the Provincial People's Council into two independent agencies.

The Provincial People's Council Committees and Office need to review their work programs and contents in 2016, what has been done and what has not been done, in order to organize the handover to the Provincial People's Council Committees to be completed in the new term, ensuring synchronous and smooth operations.
