Focus on directing the completion of the 2014 plan targets

(Baonghean) - On the morning of October 22, in Vinh City, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a regular meeting to assess the socio-economic situation and give opinions on a number of draft resolutions of the People's Council. Attending the meeting were comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee,representative of the provincial People's Council,Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee, members of the committee, leaders of departments, branches and sectors.

The highlight of the socio-economic situation in October is that the whole province focused on directing and urging the tasks of 2014, winter crop production, disease prevention for crops and livestock, flood and storm prevention; focused on accelerating the construction progress, disbursement of project works; developing the 2015 Plan, implementing the development of the 5-year Plan 2016-2020. Up to now, 12 communes have met the criteria of new rural areas. Investment attraction activities, foreign economic activities have achieved many achievements.

In October, the province organized a high-level working delegation to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea on the construction of the Square and the erection of a statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Ulianov City, the Russian Federation and the signing of a friendship and cooperation agreement with Gyeonggi Province, the Republic of Korea; worked with the US Embassy; held a meeting on landmark planting... Implemented the contents after the conference summarizing the Socio-Economic Development Cooperation Program between Ho Chi Minh City and Nghe An Province; started construction of the Hoa Sen Steel Plant in Nam Cam Industrial Park. The sectors also prepared contents to promote investment for the VSIP Industrial Park, Urban and Service Complex project.

At the meeting, many opinions were discussed about winter crop production, solutions to boost year-end budget collection, review of upcoming investment promotion work for large projects, adjustment of the Southeast economic zone boundary, support policy mechanism for Hoa Sen Steel Factory, settlement of investment procedures for projects, control of fraud in petroleum business...

Representatives of the People's Council commented on the draft report submitted to the Provincial People's Council.

Concluding the content on the socio-economic situation, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong affirmed: Based on the assessment of the situation in 10 months, it is expected that out of the 27 main targets assigned by the People's Council in the 2014 Plan, 1 target will be exceeded (number of communes achieving new rural status), 24 targets will be achieved. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested all levels and sectors to continue to coordinate and study solutions to overcome existing problems; review each target and task in 2014, continue to effectively and on schedule implement programs and projects to implement Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo. Continue to resolutely direct winter-spring crop cultivation, do a good job of preventing and controlling diseases on crops and livestock, preventing storms and floods, competing to build new rural areas, completing investment procedures for newly started projects; Actively implement cooperation agreements signed between Nghe An and other units, actively implement announcements of leaders of the Party, State, ministries and branches who have come to work with Nghe An.

In the morning, the Provincial People's Committee listened to and gave opinions on the following contents: Draft Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on the level of support for mass mobilization groups in blocks, hamlets and villages in Nghe An province, draft principles for pricing and approval of price frameworks for land types in Nghe An province.
