(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 24th, the Provincial People's Committee continued its regular monthly meeting for December 2015.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - presided over the meeting. Also attending were the Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of the leaders of provincial departments and agencies.

At the meeting, the delegates continued to listen to and give opinions on the following contents: amendments to Decision 49 on regulations for managing science and technology projects; amendments to Decision 105/2009/QD-UBND on the cost estimates for science and technology projects serving science and technology tasks; new construction costs of houses and buildings as a basis for determining compensation, support, and resettlement values when the state recovers land in 2016 in the province; and regulations on the management and shared use of technical infrastructure in urban areas in the province. The above contents basically received high agreement and consensus from the delegates, alongside some minor suggestions for revisions to ensure the draft is finalized and approved soon.

The meeting also included time to hear the draft report summarizing the 5-year implementation (2011-2015) of Resolution 05-NQ/T.Ư dated October 28, 2011, of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on the development of tourism in Nghe An province for the period 2011-2020, and the draft Directive of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership over tourism development for the period 2016-2020.

Participants at the meeting noted that the achievements of the tourism industry over the past five years have not been commensurate with the province's potential. The preliminary report, while highlighting strengths, should also clearly identify shortcomings, their causes, and corrective measures. It should also review and evaluate the leadership role of the Department's leaders, focusing on assessing human resources and infrastructure, researching and exploiting the aspects of traditional craft villages to develop tourism, and attracting investors to the tourism sector in the area.

| Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - commented that the number of international tourists returning to Nghe An is not yet high. To overcome this, a more thorough and in-depth assessment of tourism products and the quality of tourism resources is needed. |
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong noted that the Department of Science and Technology and the Department of Construction should seriously consider and promptly revise the comments and amendments made at the meeting, in order to finalize the draft and submit it to the Provincial People's Committee for approval, promulgation, and implementation at the beginning of next year.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee concluded that the draft reports of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism were not yet approved. He requested the Department to invest further, seriously consider the opinions expressed at the meeting, and coordinate with the Provincial People's Committee Office to finalize the content of the draft reports as soon as possible. He emphasized that in the coming time, the province will focus on investing in, supporting, supplementing, and developing Nghe An's tourism industry to flourish and meet the expectations of the people.
Tomorrow morning (December 25th), the December 2015 regular meeting of the Provincial People's Committee will enter its final session.
