Focus on road maintenance before the rainy season
(Baonghean.vn) - In order to contribute to ensuring traffic safety and serving people's travel needs, the Road Maintenance Management Board and the Department of Transport are actively focusing on the maintenance of national highways before the rainy and stormy season.
Speed up construction progress
In recent years, Nghe An has been approved by the Ministry of Transport to transfer a number of local routes with a total length of more than 961 km from provincial roads to national highways (QL7B, QL48E, QL48D, QL16, etc.). Taking advantage of capital sources from the Central Government to support investment, the Department of Transport is focusing onmaintenance and repair of traffic routes.
For example, Highway 48 from Quy Hop - Quy Chau - Que Phong districts has a seriously degraded asphalt pavement. Since the beginning of July 2020, this route has been paved with asphalt concrete. Currently, all construction packages are ahead of schedule and the construction quality is guaranteed. In particular, Giang Son Construction Joint Stock Company is constructing from Km77 to Km90 (section through Quy Chau district). Currently, the asphalt pavement is 100% complete and quality is guaranteed. Currently, some restoration items such as drainage ditches, marker posts, and signs are being implemented. It is expected to be handed over in September, more than 1 month ahead of schedule.

For National Highway 7B with a total length of 45 km, passing through several communes of Yen Thanh and Do Luong districts connecting withQL7, QL46, however, before being transferred to the national highway, this route had not been maintained or repaired due to long-term use, many sections were flooded during the rainy season, so it was seriously degraded. After being transferred to the national highway, in 2017, QL7B was maintained and repaired, but due to funding difficulties, only about 70% of the repairs were completed.
From the beginning of July 2020, National Highway 7B continued to be invested in repairing sections through Hoa Thanh, Trung Thanh, Bac Thanh, My Thanh communes, Yen Thanh town (Yen Thanh) and sections through Thuong Son commune (Do Luong). Specifically, the road was repaired for over 10 km, of which 7 km was paved through communes in Yen Thanh, and 3 km was paved in Thuong Son commune (Do Luong).
Up to this point, the repair packages on National Highway 7B have ensured the progress and quality of the project. Currently, the progress of the package implementation has reached over 50%, the road surface alone has reached over 70%, some other auxiliary works are expected to be completed and put into use in November 2020.

Right from the start of construction, the joint venture deployed human resources, machinery, and equipment to ensure progress and quality. Up to now, the unit has completed the construction of a 2.5 km long 3-layer asphalt pavement through Nghia Thai commune (Tan Ky); this phase I of National Highway 48E has been maintained for over 30 km, and paved for 8 km through densely populated areas. According to the plan, this route will be put into use in December 2020.
