Focus resources on maximizing the advantages of forest land in Quy Chau.

(Baonghean.vn) - As part of their working visit to Quy Chau district, on the morning of June 16th, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong – Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the People's Committee, Mr. Le Quang Huy – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and representatives from various departments and agencies visited economic development models, key transportation projects, and new rural development models in the district.

The Chairman visited two bamboo toothpick production facilities: Thanh Phu Lam Enterprise in Chau Binh commune and Hien Thuong Enterprise in Hamlet 32, Chau Thang commune. These are privately owned enterprises with high economic efficiency, utilizing readily available local raw materials such as reeds, bamboo, and rattan. Currently, these two facilities regularly employ 20 ethnic minority workers in the processing plants and nearly 100 seasonal workers, with an average salary of 3 to 3.5 million VND per person per month. Each of the Thanh Phu Lam and Hien Thuong private enterprises produces 200 tons of bamboo toothpicks annually, generating total revenue exceeding 3 billion VND.

Next, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited the livestock farming model of Mr. Hoang Dinh Son's family in Bai village, Chau Thang commune. With an initial loan of 50 million VND, the family now earns over 100 million VND per year with a total herd of over 50 cows.

At the Ha Loan incense production facility, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his delight and high appreciation for the model of the Quy Chau incense village. Using raw materials sourced from incense roots grown locally, the Ha Loan incense production facility generates over 1.4 billion VND annually, with products exported throughout the country. This economic development model can serve as a basis for the province to propose solutions for economic development in the Mekong Delta in general, and Quy Chau district in particular, in the coming period, in accordance with Resolution 26 of the Politburo on Nghe An province.

As part of his working visit, he also toured the Hoa Hai Bridge project in Tan Lac Town, a key transportation project in the area, addressing the daily travel and trade needs of over 1,000 people. This is also a key project to celebrate the Party Congress at all levels and the 600th anniversary of the founding of Quy Chau District. It is expected to be completed and handed over for operation by June 30, 2015. Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong requested the investor and construction units to commit to accelerating the progress to ensure the project is handed over on time.

At Chau Hanh 2 Primary School, where students still study in thatched-roof houses, the delegation was pleased to receive a report from the District People's Committee that they will soon be proposing a project to build a modern boarding secondary school in the town with a total investment of 2.3 billion VND.

Regarding the rural road system in Ke Bon village, Chau Hanh commune, the comrade acknowledged the spirit of cooperation between the state and the people. To complete the 1.1km rural road according to the new rural development criteria, each household contributed 1.2 million VND.

Later that same day, the Provincial Chairman will hold a working session with the leaders of Quy Chau district at the district People's Committee headquarters to listen to and give opinions on the district's socio-economic development plan.
