Focus on exercising the power of prosecution and supervising judicial activities.

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of January 21st, the Provincial People's Procuracy held a conference to summarize its work in 2013 and to plan for 2014. Comrade Tran Hong Chau, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, attended and directed the conference.

Comrade Tran Hong Chau presented the Second Class Labor Medal to individuals with outstanding achievements.

In 2013, the Provincial People's Procuracy successfully completed its assigned tasks, handling 2,593 cases; coordinating with relevant agencies to classify and process 2,475 cases and initiating criminal proceedings in 2,140 cases. In exercising its prosecutorial and investigative powers, the Procuracy handled 2,398 criminal cases involving 4,740 defendants; the investigating agencies resolved 2,160 cases involving 4,284 defendants, of which 2,049 cases involving 4,090 defendants were concluded and prosecution recommended; the Procuracy was responsible for handling 2,114 cases involving 4,237 defendants, and resolved 2,062 cases involving 4,132 defendants, including prosecuting 2,049 cases involving 4,104 defendants. In the practice of prosecuting and supervising criminal trials, the Procuracy handled 2,183 cases with 4,420 defendants at the first instance; and conducted 344 cases with 545 defendants at the first instance. Despite the large number of cases tried, the cases prosecuted by the Procuracy ensured that the right person was charged with the right crime, in accordance with the law.

Also in 2013, the supervision of arrests, detentions, and temporary custody; supervision of the execution of criminal sentences, management and education of prisoners; supervision of the resolution of civil cases; supervision of administrative, commercial, labor and other matters as prescribed by law; supervision of the execution of civil judgments; resolution of complaints and denunciations under the responsibility of the People's Procuracy and supervision of the resolution of complaints and denunciations concerning the judiciary were all carried out effectively.

Comrade Tran Hong Chau presented the emulation flag of the Supreme People's Procuracy to the Provincial Procuracy.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council presented the flag of the Provincial People's Committee to the Provincial People's Procuracy.

In 2014, to effectively carry out the work of the sector in accordance with Directive No. 01/CT-VKSTC dated January 2, 2014, of the Supreme People's Procuracy, the Provincial People's Procuracy seriously implemented the newly amended Constitution; focused on exercising the power of prosecution and supervising judicial activities, ensuring the achievement and exceeding of targets and tasks. Specifically, it strived to achieve over 90% of the rate of handling and resolving crime reports; over 98% of criminal proceedings after arrest and detention; no cases were resolved beyond the legally prescribed time limit; the case resolution rate of the investigating agency reached over 85%, of the People's Procuracy reached over 995%, and of the Court reached over 90%; and no cases were dismissed due to the defendant not committing a crime...

Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Comrade Tran Hong Chau acknowledged and commended the achievements of the provincial procuracy's staff and officials in 2013. They demonstrated innovation, dynamism, and creativity in their work to protect justice and the law, minimize wrongful convictions, and appropriately punish various crimes, contributing to the province's overall success in 2013. He also reminded the sector to address and rectify existing shortcomings, promptly handle cases of public concern, focus more on administrative reform, and coordinate effectively with the Court, Police, and other relevant agencies... to successfully complete the procuracy work in 2014.

On this occasion, the Provincial Procuracy is honored to have 3 individuals awarded the Second and Third Class Labor Orders by the President of Vietnam for their outstanding achievements in judicial work; awarded the flag "Outstanding Unit in the Emulation Movement in 2013" by the Supreme People's Procuracy; and awarded the flag "Outstandingly Completed all tasks; Leading in the Patriotic Emulation Movement in 2013" by the Provincial People's Committee...
