Walking around the restaurants and food service kiosks in the Cua Lo beach park area, we saw that every restaurant had a price list for food, drinks and other services.
In addition to the items whose prices are regulated by the state, seafood items with daily prices are also clearly listed on the price list so that visitors can know and choose the one that best suits their needs. This has partly created peace of mind for visitors before using the service.
Cua Lo currently has 346 kiosks, service restaurants and 293 hotels and restaurants spread across 7 wards. All shops and kiosks have publicly listed prices with hotlines. |
Mr. Dang Tien Dong - a tourist from Hanoi said: "Prices in Cua Lo are not cheap but not expensive either, prices are announced by the owner or listed on the price list. Seafood here is fresher than other places"
In 2016, Cua Lo town welcomed more than 1.6 million visitors, with revenue reaching 1,420 billion VND. With the goal of welcoming more than 1.8 million visitors, an increase of 10% compared to 2016, in addition to development solutions, Cua Lo town must do a good job in service pricing.
“Entering the 2017 tourist season, our restaurant is committed to publicly posting prices, without price gouging even during peak times. In addition to price stabilization, our restaurant will offer discounts on items such as life jackets, swimsuits, and soft drinks. The restaurant also offers a 10% discount for groups booking 50 seats or more,” said Mr. Le Thanh Hoa, a restaurant owner.

To strictly manage price management during peak tourist months, to ensure civilization in tourism business activities, on April 18, 2017, the People's Committee of Cua Lo town issued Directive No. 04/CT-UBND on publicly posting prices of service and tourism business items in the area.
Accordingly, organizations and individuals doing business in services and tourism in the town must strictly comply with the public price posting and are only allowed to sell items at the listed prices. For items whose prices have been regulated by the State, they must not list prices that are not at the prescribed price and price range.
Motels and hotels in the town must publicly post and not suddenly increase the prices of rooms and food and beverage items during the peak tourist season. Parking lots in the town must publicly post parking fees according to State regulations. Price lists must be clearly posted and placed in places where customers can easily see them.
Ms. Pham Phuong Thuy, Deputy Director of Muong Thanh Grand Cua Lo Hotel said: "Our unit informs customers of prices when they come to make transactions and there is never any price increase."
Along with implementing the directive on public price posting, the town also established an interdisciplinary inspection team to regularly guide, propagate, inspect, remind and urge organizations and individuals participating in tourism and service businesses to strictly comply with the public price posting of goods. Handle violations of public price posting according to the provisions of law.
