Fishing boat sunk by waves at Cua Hoi beach

At around 5:00 p.m. on December 25, while performing patrol and control duties in the Hon Ngu island area, Cua Lo town (Nghe An), CSB 606 boat of Squadron 102/BTL Coast Guard Region 1 discovered afishing boat sunkat a location near buoy number 3, Cua Hoi channel. The crew on board sent out an urgent distress signal. CSB boat 606 quickly reported to the Command Center and maneuvered, approaching the fishing boat to support and rescue the victims.
After about 20 minutes, CSB 606 boat approached the fishing boat in distress, rescued 2 crew members and brought them to safety.

Upon verification, the sunken fishing boat, numbered NA 70517 TS, consisted of two crew members, captained by Nguyen Khac Thai, 38 years old, residing in Nghi Hai ward, Cua Lo town. After finishing fishing, the boat was on its way back to Cua Hoi fishing port when it ran aground and was hit by big waves and sank.
After being rescued, the twocrewshowed signs of panic. Officers and soldiers of CSB 606 boat promptly encouraged, provided medical care and brought the victim to shore, handing him over to Cua Hoi Border Control Station (Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Port Border Guard Station) and Nghi Hai Ward People's Committee.
Previously, on December 22, also in the above area, CSB 606 boat successfully rescued 2 crew members of fishing boat NA 90355 TS that ran aground and was sunk by waves./.
