Can Vietnamese missile frigates return to Russia?
Russia-Vietnam defense cooperation is developing very well. In the future, warships of the two countries may visit each other's military ports more often.
Lieutenant General Alexandr Fomin - Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia recently informed international reporters that: Evidence of close interaction and cooperation in the naval field is that last June, Vietnam ratified an agreement to simplify procedures for warships to call at ports of Russia and Vietnam.
The Russian Federation is the only country that has such an agreement with Vietnam. Last July in Saint Petersburg for the first time in the history of modern Russia, a major naval parade took place, in which the Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Navy - Rear Admiral Hoang Hong Ha attended.
According to him, on a regular basis, unofficial visits and working trips are also organized when ships of the Pacific Fleet call at Vietnamese ports.
"We will be pleased to welcome ships of the Vietnamese Navy in Vladivostok. This issue is currently being prepared by our colleagues," Mr. Alexandr Fomin announced.

Thus, with the announcement of Mr. Alexandr Fomin, it is very likely that in the near future the Vietnam People's Navy will organize return visits by warships to Russian military ports, specifically here the port of Vladivostok.
Until now, visits have only taken place from Russia because the Russian side has large warships with long operating times at sea, while the Vietnamese Navy still faces limitations in this regard.
However, now that we have put into service four Gepard 3.9 ships with a displacement of over 2,000 tons, capable of reaching as far as the equator to participate in naval parades, the above problem is no longer difficult.

The prospect being mentioned is that in the not too distant future, the Gepard 3.9 warships of the Vietnam Navy will have the opportunity to return to visit Russia, the place where they were born and completed.
Although the distance from Vladivostok port to the Black Sea is very far, this can still be considered a memorable visit, symbolizing the friendly defense cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.
Besides, we also hope that in the future there will be ships built domestically by Vietnam that are capable of sailing to Russia to participate in joint exercises with the navy of this country to improve our combat experience.
