"The Northern Fleet's nuclear-powered anti-submarine missile cruiser, performing planned combat training missions in the Barents Sea, studied the use of torpedo weapons against underwater targets," - the press release said.

During the exercise, a multi-purpose nuclear submarine of one of the Northern Fleet's submarine forces performed anti-adversary tasks.

Torpedo attacks with actual shells without warheads were carried out at a depth of about 100 meters. The cruiser squadron also practiced maneuvering, avoiding enemy attacks and swimming in various modes.

After the successful launch, the torpedo boat was lifted out of the water by special boats and brought back to base, while the submarines continued to carry out combat training missions as planned.
