Russian Kilo submarine on fire
A video on YouTube and several other social media sites shows a huge column of black smoke billowing from a Kilo-class attack submarine.
The clip was filmed in the Pacific port city of Vladivostok, a stronghold of Russia's Black Sea Fleet. Five submarines and several other ships can be seen lying side by side, with two submarines close to the fire and smoke appearing to be coming from only one vessel.

The Pacific Fleet's press service issued a statement saying it was part of a "damage control exercise." However, according to Business Insider, that doesn't seem to be the case because the fire was so intense.

The Kilo-class submarine is one of Russia's key non-nuclear attack submarines. Designed and put into service in 1980, this type of submarine has been sold to many countries, including China, India, Iran...
Kilo-class submarines were recently used to launch cruise missiles into Syria.
