The 5th Kilo-class submarine has safely entered Cam Ranh Bay.

This is one of a series of 6 Kilo-class submarines that Vietnam purchased from Russia, aiming to gradually build a regular, modern naval force, improving the ability to protect the country's sea and islands.
After entering Cam Ranh Bay, the Rolldock Star ship anchored so that in the next few days, experts could partially sink the transport ship to bring the submarine out and bring it back to Cam Ranh Military Port.
The Kilo 636 class submarine is nearly 74m long, 9.9m wide, has a displacement of 3,000-3,950 tons, a speed of 20 nautical miles/hour, operates at an average depth of 240m and can dive to a maximum depth of 300m.
The ship has a range of 6,000-7,500 nautical miles, an independent operating time of 45 days and nights, and a crew of 52 people.
Previously, in 2014 and 2015, Russia handed over four similar submarines to Vietnam and the Navy Command put them into service with the 189th Submarine Brigade, with the names: HQ-182 Hanoi, HQ-183 Ho Chi Minh City, HQ-184 Hai Phong and HQ-185 Khanh Hoa.
