US President Donald Trump said China is a big burden on Americans because of unfair and unbalanced trade practices, so he had to increase tariffs.

"China should not have imposed tariffs on $75 billion of U.S. goods. Starting October 1st, the $250 billion of Chinese goods currently being taxed at 25% will be taxed at 30%. The remaining $300 billion of goods, which were scheduled to be taxed at 10% starting September 1st, will now be taxed at 15%," Trump said on Twitter.

Trump's move came after China announced it would impose 5-10% tariffs on $75 billion worth of US goods from September 1 and December 15, stressing that it was "forced to act in response to US measures".

On August 24, the Russian Navy successfully test-launched two Sineva and Bulava ballistic missiles from nuclear-powered submarines in the Arctic Ocean and Barents Sea.

The Russian Defense Ministry added that the mock missile warhead hit a simulated target in the Arkhangelsk region and the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia's Far East.

Sineva is a liquid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile with a range of more than 11,500 km, while Bulava is Russia's newest solid-fueled missile with a range of 8,000-9,300 km.

The Russian Navy conducted the missile launch a day after President Vladimir Putin ordered a proportionate response to recent US missile tests.

Data from the ship tracking website MarineTraffic shows the Adrian Darya is heading towards Turkey instead of southern Greece. Previous data indicated the Adrian Darya 1, formerly known as the Grace 1, was heading towards the southern Greek port of Kalamata.

However, new data from MarineTraffic on August 24 shows the ship will pass Greece, cross the Mediterranean and dock at the port of Mersin in southern Türkiye on August 31.

The 300,000-ton Adrian Darya 1 supertanker was carrying 2.1 million barrels of light crude oil worth $130 million. The ship left Gibraltar (a British overseas territory) on the night of August 18 after being detained for 1.5 months on suspicion of transporting oil to Syria, in violation of European Union (EU) sanctions. Iran denied the accusation, claiming it was transporting oil to the Iraqi port of Basra.
