Bullet train travels across Britain in 8 minutes

The US company Hyper Chariot is planning to design a 6,400 km/h (4,000 mph) bullet train, consisting of several car-sized carriages that can travel through a vacuum tube at five times the speed of sound, the Sun reported today. This supersonic public transport system could be operational by 2040.
