The Volocopter VC200 is a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft that resembles a helicopter with 18 rotors. The flying taxi is expected to begin carrying passengers from 2020. Middle Eastern investors hope to be able to operate flying taxis in cities like Dubai.
With 18 quiet propellers and an eco-friendly electric motor, the Volocopter VC200 can fly for about 30 minutes and carry a pilot and passenger. The taxi is controlled by one hand with a single joystick. However, it can also fly autonomously without a pilot.
The manufacturer also equipped the Volocopter VC200 with spare batteries, propellers and two parachutes for safety. The taxi is expected to cost around $340,000 when it goes on sale.
