On May 4, the Investigation Police Agency of Binh Tan District (Vinh Long) issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Tran Van Ven (30 years old, residing in Tan Luoc Commune, Binh Tan District) for 3 months to investigate the act of "Theft of property".
According to the investigation agency, at 1 a.m. on April 23, Ven walked along the road in Tan Luoc commune, looking for stolen property. When he arrived at the house of Ms. Le Thi Nam (66 years old, living in the same locality), Ven saw that the lights were still on and the door was unlocked, so he sneaked in and stole a gold bracelet and 2 mobile phones, worth about 36 million VND.

At around 7am that same day, Ven and his wife went to a gold shop to sell the gold bracelet they had just stolen and were discovered and arrested by the police. It is known that Ven has 5 previous convictions for theft of property.
