A warm Tet in Ky Son

In the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), a group of students from Hanoi University of Science and Technology organized a charity activity aimed at helping poor families and children in Ky Son district with the slogan "A warm Tet for poor children in Ky Son district".

Through the media and friends, the group of students from the "English and Environment Club" of Hanoi University of Science and Technology learned about the difficulties and hardships of the people in this remote, border area. They organized a donation of clothes, money, and other necessities worth 11 million VND. During their journey from Hanoi to Ky Son district, the eight members of the group anxiously imagined the hardships of life for the people in this high-altitude border region. Nguyen Van Hung, the head of the delegation, shared, "We heard that the lives of the local people, especially the students here, are very difficult. Hearing about the children having to travel far from home to study, having to build temporary shelters, we sympathized with them and wanted to share a little. Now that we've witnessed it firsthand, we understand even more deeply. This program of our delegation is aimed at helping the children and poor families during Tet (Lunar New Year). Through this experience, we have truly understood the hardships and difficulties in the lives of the people here. We will have more programs aimed at the remote mountainous and border areas. We hope that in the future, the people and students here will receive more help from individuals and other charitable organizations."

The recipients of the gifts this time were students and poor families in the two communes of Huu Kiem and Ta Ca - Ky Son. Receiving the delegation's attention, Mr. Kha Van O, 65 years old, a lonely elderly man in Sa Vang village, Ta Ca commune, emotionally said: "I don't know how to thank you all. This winter is very cold, but now I have warm clothes, so I don't have to worry too much about Tet anymore. Thank you for your concern."

What the group of students from the Polytechnic University sent to the people and students in the mountainous region of Ky Son district is a meaningful spiritual gift at the moment of bidding farewell to the old year and welcoming the new year in this remote mountainous area.
